Project: Kincaid’s Creole Café

Project Goals: Create a branding campaign surrounding Kincaid’s Creole Café.

Overview: For this project, I created a café and then designed the branding materials for the café.

Meet the Kincaids

Chefs Desiree and Deon Kincaid opened up Kincaid’s Creole Café in early 2002, where they both use their skills and knowledge to bring the city of Los Angeles the taste of New Orleans and desserts from around the world.

  • Founder

Chef Desiree Kincaid started cooking at the age of 15. She went to culinary school at Le Cordon Bleu, and then moved to New Orleans and studied cooking while going to Tulane University, she graduated from Tulane with a BA in Business Management. Chef Kincaid loves to cook, and wanted to share what she learned from New Orleans and give it to the people in Los Angeles.

  • Co-Founder

Chef Deon Kincaid started baking at the young age of 10, having watched his sister and mother in the kitchen. When his sister went to school at Le Cordon Bleu, he went a different route. Traveling the world, and baking through the most idyllic countries. After several years of traveling and baking abroad, he returned home when his sister offered him a job at her newly opened café. There he shows off his skills and provides some unique pastries, desserts, and more.

History

From New Orleans to Los Angeles, Desiree Kincaid knew she wanted to open up a restaurant in the city of Angels. Growing up in the city, it offered an experience rich in culture and food. Having roots down in New Orleans, she knew she wanted to marry the two cultures into a unique blend of creole meets silicon valley.
